About · Est. 2026
A serious publication about a very unserious chair.
The public record of soft seating.
Why does this exist?
Search “best bean bag chair” and you’ll get a wall of identical affiliate posts written by people who have never read a CPSC recall notice. Meanwhile, there is real research out there (ergonomics journals, occupational-therapy literature, federal safety records), and nobody was connecting it to the actual chairs Americans buy. So we built the connection: The Beanbag Bureau, an independent research desk that treats soft seating like a beat worth covering properly.
Rankings are filed under a transparent Comfort Score model. Every quantitative claim cites a source you can check in the Research Library. Recalls get covered like news, because they are.
Editorial standards
- No invented expertise. Bylines are honest: today the desk publishes as the Bureau Research Desk. As named editors and credentialed reviewers (ergonomists, OTs) join, articles will carry their real names and real bios, never fictional experts.
- No fabricated testing. We don’t claim hands-on time we haven’t logged. The methodology spells out exactly what our scores are built from.
- No pay-to-play. Manufacturers cannot buy placement, period.
- Evidence-graded language. When research is thin, we say so. “Studies suggest” and “proven” are different words and we use them differently.
- One dry joke per article, maximum. Zero in safety coverage.
Corrections policy
We correct loudly, not quietly. Verified errors are fixed within 24 hours; material errors get a notice at the top of the page; every correction is logged here with a date and what changed. Corrections (we got it wrong) are labeled differently from updates (new information arrived). Spot an error? Write to desk@beanbagbureau.com. We answer.
Corrections log: no entries yet. The record starts with Filing No. 1.
Affiliate disclosure
Some outbound product links may earn The Beanbag Bureau a commission at no cost to you. Three
structural rules keep that honest: rankings are finalized before any monetization
check; products with no affiliate program remain fully rankable; and affiliate links carry
rel="sponsored" markup. Commissions pay for the desk. They do not move a
single ranking. If a page is monetized, the disclosure appears above the first such link.
