Lovesac vs Yogibo (2026): Foam Sack or Bead Lounger?
Lovesac SuperSac (86/100) or Yogibo Max (83/100)? Foam wins on support and warranty at a $1,325 list; the 19 lb bead lounger wins on value from $469.99.
Lovesac vs Yogibo is a choice between a foam sack and a bead lounger. The Lovesac SuperSac (86/100, No. 2 of 12) suits two adults who want one resilient sack for a decade, at a $1,325 list price for the insert-and-cover bundle [1]. The Yogibo Max (83/100, No. 5) suits most budgets and most apartments: a 19 lb bead lounger from $469.99 [2].
The real choice is a heavy foam sack two adults can share for years, or a light, conforming lounger one person can shift for about a third of the price. Scores come from our Comfort Score model; the write-ups are the SuperSac review and the Yogibo Max review, and our ranking holds all twelve chairs. Prices have moved since scoring, so this page uses October 1, 2026 numbers.

Foam vs bead bean bag: which supports you better?
Lovesac takes both rounds: ergonomic support 22.5/25 to Yogibo’s 21/25, and fill quality 19/20 to 15/20. The fill gap is the widest on the card, four points.
Lovesac says its shredded Durafoam spreads body weight evenly and does not compress over time [1]. That is a maker claim; the filed owner synthesis agrees that Sacs holding their shape for years is its most consistent theme. The Max’s microbeads work the other way. Yogibo’s FAQ says compression takes years if you mostly sit, and that you may need refill beads after a year or two if you stretch, jump, or impact the bag often [5]. Crushed beads stay crushed until you add more, and our memory foam vs EPS explainer covers why.
The ergonomic marks sit closer because the Max is strongest reclined and full length. The one peer-reviewed bean bag trial in our files, a 2022 PeerJ crossover study of 14 nappers, found lower trapezius muscle activity in a bean bag chair than in a similar urethane chair [9]. A caution that matters on this page: the bag in that trial was a Yogibo Max, and Webshark Inc. of Osaka, the company the paper names beside it, funded the work as sponsored research. The authors declare no competing interests and say the funder had no role in the design, analysis, or decision to publish [9]. The trial did not compare foam with beads or test upright sitting, so it cannot referee this match (see our back-health explainer). Upright is where the Max loses points: a structureless bag wants Yogibo’s separate Support backrest, $199.99 to $299.99 on October 1, 2026 [10], so a Max with the cheapest backrest runs $669.98 (editorial arithmetic). The SuperSac insert weighs 75 lb and is rated by Lovesac for two or more adults [3]; the filed card credits its dense shredded foam with holding an upright two-adult sit.
Which cover is easier to live with?
Lovesac edges cover durability, 14/15 to 13/15, and the two tie on ease of care at 9/10 each.
The SuperSac is sold as insert plus cover. A standalone Navy Solid Microsuede cover lists at $625 with 8–10 week shipping [4] (the filed June 2026 record ran $625–$1,105 by fabric), under a three-year cover warranty [6]. The Max wears an 89% cotton, 11% spandex stretch skin that unzips and machine-washes [2]; a spare runs $189.99 to $219.99, about a third of Lovesac’s $625 entry price [11], under a one-year seam-and-zipper warranty [7]. Lovesac builds around swapping covers on a long-lived insert; Yogibo’s cover is cheap enough to keep a spare.
Care is a draw because each bag has one awkward chore. Lovesac’s cover wants cold water, the gentlest cycle, and a flat dry, never the tumble dryer [6]. The Max’s chore is beads: topping up means unzipping the inner liner and pouring in a refill kit [12].
Lovesac SuperSac vs Yogibo Max: which is easier to move?
Yogibo takes size and weight, 9/10 to 8/10. The Max measures 72 x 24 x 24 inches and weighs about 19 lb, and Yogibo says it stands on its end in under four square feet of floor [2]. The SuperSac insert weighs 75 lb and is about 5 ft wide and 3 ft 10 in tall [3], nearly four times the Max’s entire weight, and the cover is extra (editorial arithmetic: 75 divided by 19).
The filed review treats Yogibo’s couch mode as two seats, not four. Neither bag is small, since a Max laid flat is six feet long, and the bean bag size chart is the five-minute check before either arrives.
Yogibo or Lovesac: who stands behind it longer?
Lovesac takes warranty and service, 8/10 to 7/10, and the paper makes the gap look wider than one point. Lovesac’s help center gives Sac inserts a 100-year warranty against manufacturer defects and covers three years [6]. The 60-day trial starts at delivery, with prepaid return labels and a scheduled pickup, and refunds follow within 10–14 business days of Lovesac receiving the return [8]. The trial excludes custom-order and clearance merchandise [8], and the standalone cover carries a CSTM label with 8–10 week shipping [4], so ask Lovesac whether a cover bought alone is returnable. (A 100-year term is also a promise nobody on this desk will be around to audit.)
Yogibo warrants cover seams and zippers for one year, with an optional two-year Protection Plan that must be bought with the order [7]. Returns must be requested within 14 days of delivery, in like-new condition and the original shipping box, and a 25% restocking fee may apply to items that cannot be resold [5]. Return shipping is on you unless the item arrived damaged or wrong [13]. The filed 8 for Lovesac was scored on June’s three-year terms; the 100-year insert term is queued for the quarterly re-score.
Lovesac vs Yogibo on value: what does the $855 list-price gap buy?
Yogibo takes value, 9/10 to 5.5/10, on marks that prices have since overtaken. The 9 was scored when the Max ran $259–$329 in June 2026. On October 1, 2026 yogibo.com lists it from $469.99, 43% above that range’s top (editorial arithmetic), with 16 of 47 color options sold out and the Premium fabrics at $699.99 on pre-order [2]. Lovesac’s side is less settled. The SuperSac bundle carried a $861.25 sale price in the filed September 13, 2026 check. On October 1 the bundle page itself listed $1,325.00 with no sale price, while Lovesac’s Sacs page advertised “Up to 25% Off Sacs” and “40% Off Sac Bundles” [14]. Lovesac’s terms tie the 25% tiers to single orders of $3,500 or more at MSRP and define the 40% offer as sets that add a Squattoman or Footsac, dated September 14–20 [15]. A lone bundle may not qualify for either, banners or not. Read $1,325 as the listed price, not a guaranteed one. At list, a standard Max sits $855 below the bundle, against $391 on September 13 (editorial arithmetic).
The ledger favors Yogibo, with a catch. Yogibo sells a 2.5 lb refill kit at $119.99 and a 5 lb kit at $169.99, and points bean bag owners to the 5 lb kit [12]. It gives no refill schedule beyond years of compression for sitters and a year or two for hard use [5], so the count here is our assumption, not Yogibo’s: three 5 lb kits over ten years of mostly sitting (editorial estimate; Yogibo does not say how much a Max holds). That puts a standard Max at $469.99 plus $509.97, about $980 before tax and shipping, under the $1,325 bundle list. Even five kits ($1,319.94) stay just under it. What the SuperSac sells is what a ledger cannot show: a fill Lovesac says does not compress, a 100-year insert warranty, and a trial long enough to live with it.
A standard Max at $469.99 sits under Yogibo’s $500 free-shipping line, which applies after discounts [5]; Lovesac’s pages advertise free shipping [1]. Neither price counts sign-up codes: Yogibo’s pages offer new customers 20% off a first order [2], and Lovesac’s terms list a 10% opt-in code [15]. If $1,325 is the sticking point but you still want foam, Ultimate Sack vs Lovesac covers the cheaper route.
What does the score tally say?
| Criterion | Weight | Lovesac SuperSac | Yogibo Max | Round winner |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ergonomic support | 25 | 22.5 | 21 | Lovesac |
| Fill quality and recovery | 20 | 19 | 15 | Lovesac |
| Cover durability and materials | 15 | 14 | 13 | Lovesac |
| Size-to-space fit | 10 | 8 | 9 | Yogibo |
| Ease of care | 10 | 9 | 9 | Draw |
| Warranty and service | 10 | 8 | 7 | Lovesac |
| Value | 10 | 5.5 | 9 | Yogibo |
| Total | 100 | 86 | 83 | Lovesac by 3 |
Lovesac wins four rounds, Yogibo two, and one is a draw. Three points separate the totals, and value is the least settled row, since both inputs have moved. Nothing here changes a filed point.
Is either one a safety risk?
Neither has a recall on record. Our filed reviews rest on CPSC checks from June 2026 (June 10 for Yogibo). We re-ran both on October 1, 2026 through CPSC’s recall API: no results for Yogibo or Lovesac, and the newest bean bag chair recall in it is still the January 2018 Comfort Research cover recall, about 1,200 covers [16, 17]. The 2014 Ace Bayou recall covered about 2.2 million chairs after two children suffocated inside zippered bags [18], and ASTM F1912-21 is the voluntary standard aimed at that hazard in bead-filled chairs [19].
Neither Yogibo’s Max page nor its FAQ mentions F1912. The FAQ describes an inner liner zipper with no pull tab as its child-safety feature [5], and the warranty page warns that the beads can suffocate young children and that children should never open zippers [7]. Lovesac’s Sacs page says its liners use “double redundant zippers” to keep the foam inside [14], a maker claim that likewise omits F1912. The SuperSac’s shredded foam is not loose-bead fill, where the standard and the recalls concentrate. Keep children under five away from either bag’s zippers; our toddler safety guide has the rules and the recall list covers every action on record.
Which should you buy: the SuperSac or the Max?
Buy the Lovesac SuperSac if:
- Two adults will share it regularly and you want a fill that does not need topping up.
- You can spend $1,325 at list for the bundle (a promotion may trim it) and $625 or more for each extra cover.
- Its spot is permanent: a 75 lb insert stays put, and it wants about 5 ft of floor.
- You want the longer paper trail: a 100-year insert warranty and a 60-day trial with pickup.
Buy the Yogibo Max if:
- Your ceiling is about $500 for a standard color, or $700 for Premium.
- You rent, move, or share a small room, where a 19 lb bag that stands on end helps.
- One person mostly reclines, reads, or naps; upright back support costs $199.99 or more extra.
- You accept buying beads ($119.99 or $169.99 a kit) and a 14-day return window.
Skip both if you want a chair that doubles as a guest bed: our No. 1, the CordaRoy’s Convertible Queen (89/100), is the better answer (CordaRoy’s vs Lovesac). If you are really choosing between two bead bags, read Moon Pod vs Yogibo.
What can a research desk not tell you?
Nobody here has handled either bag, and no lab sits behind these marks. How quickly Durafoam or Yogibo’s beads lose loft, how long each cover lasts, and how a year-ten warranty claim resolves are outside what spec sheets and owner reviews can show. The owner synthesis behind the filed marks overweights the delighted and the furious and says little about year five and later. Prices are the most perishable part of this page: the bundle page showed $861.25 on sale on September 13 and $1,325.00 with no sale price on October 1, and the Max rose $141 to $211 between June and September (editorial arithmetic).
The SuperSac is the better chair and the Max is the better purchase, and 86 to 83 describes that tension fairly. If one person wants something soft to lie back on for under $500, buy the Max and budget for beads. If two adults want one resilient sack for ten years, the SuperSac is what the extra $855 at list buys.
Update log. October 1, 2026: first publication. Checked today: both makers’ prices, warranties, and return terms, Lovesac’s promotions and terms, Yogibo’s refill beads, spare covers, and Support backrest, and CPSC’s recall database. Filed values carried unchanged (scores move only at the re-score): both Comfort Scores, every criterion mark, ranks No. 2 and No. 5, and the June 2026 owner synthesis. Queued for the quarterly re-score: value for both bags (Max from $469.99 versus the $259–$329 scored; bundle page $1,325.00 with no sale price versus a $861.25 sale on September 13) and warranty for Lovesac (100-year insert term).

Questions, answered
Lovesac vs Yogibo: which is better?
Lovesac's SuperSac scores 86/100 and Yogibo's Max 83/100 on our model. Lovesac wins support, fill, cover, and warranty; Yogibo wins size and value; care is a draw. Choose the SuperSac for a heavy foam sack two adults share for a decade, listed at $1,325 on October 1, 2026. Choose the Yogibo Max for a 19 lb bead lounger one person can move, from $469.99.
Is the Lovesac SuperSac worth the extra money over a Yogibo Max?
Only if you want what the price buys: a foam fill Lovesac says does not compress, a 100-year insert warranty, and a 60-day trial. At list prices the Max wins on cost. Assuming three 5 lb refills over ten years (our assumption, not a Yogibo figure), the Max totals about $980 against the $1,325 SuperSac bundle list. A spare Max cover is $189.99 to $219.99 against $625 for a microsuede SuperSac cover.
Which is better for a small apartment, a Lovesac or a Yogibo?
The Yogibo Max. It weighs about 19 lb, measures 72 x 24 x 24 inches, and Yogibo says it stands on its end in under four square feet. The Lovesac SuperSac insert weighs 75 lb and is about 5 ft wide, so it suits a spot where it will stay. Our size-to-space marks are 9/10 for the Max and 8/10 for the SuperSac.
Do foam bean bags last longer than bead bean bags?
Our filed reviews score foam higher on fill: Lovesac's shredded Durafoam 19/20, Yogibo's EPS beads 15/20. Lovesac says its foam does not compress over time, and owner reports most often describe Sacs keeping their shape for years. Yogibo's FAQ says its beads may need refills after a year or two if you stretch, jump, or impact the bag often; a 5 lb kit is $169.99. None of this is lab-measured.
What are Lovesac's and Yogibo's return policies?
Lovesac offers a 60-day home trial with prepaid return labels and pickup; custom-order and clearance items are excluded. Yogibo takes returns within 14 days of delivery in like-new condition and the original shipping box, with a 25% restocking fee that may apply to items that cannot be resold, and return shipping is on you unless the item arrived damaged or wrong (checked October 1, 2026).
