Lovesac Alternatives (2026): 5 Cheaper Picks, Scored
Best Lovesac alternatives, scored: CordaRoy's Queen (89/100, $399.99), Chill Sack (79, from $164.99), Yogibo Max (83) against a $1,325-list SuperSac bundle.
The best Lovesac alternative is the CordaRoy’s Convertible Queen (89/100, $399.99 [1]), a washable foam chair that opens into a queen bed. The Chill Sack 5 ft (79/100, $164.99–$225.99 [2]) is the cheapest foam sack of similar size, the Big Joe Fuf XL (now listed as the Fuf 7 Ft; 82/100, from $184.99 [3]) the couch-size pick, and the Yogibo Max (83/100, from $469.99 [4]) the bead option. The SuperSac bundle page lists $1,325 [5].
The Lovesac SuperSac is the benchmark: 86/100, No. 2 on our 12-chair ranking, with the best support, fill, and cover marks of any bag on this page. The useful question is which part you will give up: the foam, the washable cover, the 100-year insert warranty, or the size. Scores are exactly as filed under our Comfort Score model, and every price is dated October 1, 2026.
How do the best Lovesac alternatives compare at a glance?
Rows run from closest to the SuperSac’s job to furthest (rule below). “No.” is a bag’s place on our 12-chair ranking.

Why do people look for cheaper alternatives to Lovesac?
Price. On October 1, 2026 the SuperSac Insert and Cover bundle in Wombat Phur showed $1,325.00 on its own page with no sale price [5]. Lovesac’s Sacs page that day carried “Up to 25% Off Sacs” and a banner reading “Sitewide up to 25% Off Everything | Savings applied in cart”, but its printed terms start the 15% tier at a single $3,500 purchase at MSRP and end the offer on October 4, and its “40% Off Sac Bundles” terms ran September 14–20 [20]. The bundle collection still showed three SuperSac, Squattoman, and footsac sets at $1,125–$1,254 [21]. On that reading a single $1,325 purchase falls short of the sitewide threshold (editorial reading), so check the cart total before assuming either price. Our SuperSac review recorded the same bundle at $861.25 on sale on September 13.
At page prices the insert is $700 and the cheapest cover we found is $325 [6, 7], so a complete SuperSac starts near $1,025 (editorial arithmetic: $700 plus $325). Every alternative below undercuts that, even the $699.99 Premium Yogibo Max.
Covers are the second bill. Lovesac priced the SuperSac cover from $325 to $750 across the 19 fabrics we checked [8], and the $625 Navy microsuede is made to order, shipping in 8–10 weeks [22]. Spare covers run $67.49–$71.99 for the Chill Sack 5 ft [23], $117.99–$229.99 for the Fuf 7 Ft [24], $149.99 for a CordaRoy’s Queen in chenille [25], and from $189.99 for the Yogibo Max [12].
Does the Chill Sack 5 ft come closest to a SuperSac?
Closest, yes. Equal, no. Of the five, only the Chill Sack meets all four closeness traits defined near the end: shredded foam, a removable machine-washable cover, a 60 x 60 x 34 in body against the SuperSac’s roughly 5 ft by 3 ft 10 in, and a 3-year full-replacement warranty [2]. At 55 lb it is 20 lb lighter than the SuperSac insert, and $164.99–$225.99 direct is 12% to 17% of the $1,325 bundle page price (editorial arithmetic for both); 9 of its 25 variants were in stock [23].
The discount shows in the filed points: support 19/25 (SuperSac 22.5), fill 15/20 (19), cover 12/15 (14). Chill Sack publishes no foam density or certification, and owners flag slow re-lofting after vacuum-compressed shipping (filed owner synthesis). Warranty ties the SuperSac at 8/10, and value beats it, 9 to 5.5. One pricing note: $164.99–$225.99 are sale prices against compare-at prices of $206.24–$282.49, under a sitewide “Massive Sale” banner [14, 23]. The Chill Sack 5 ft review has the card; Big Joe Fuf vs Chill Sack pits it against the other budget sack.
Is the CordaRoy’s Convertible Queen the best Lovesac alternative?
By our numbers, yes, and it is the only alternative here that out-scores the SuperSac: 89 to 86. It wins warranty (10 against 8), size (9.5 against 8), and value (9 against 5.5), and trails on support by 1 point, fill by 1.5, cover by 1, and care by half a point.
The chenille Queen listed at $399.99 on October 1, 2026, and the page advertised 20% off with code BESTSEAT from October 1 to 25, or $319.99 (editorial arithmetic) [1]. As a chair it takes 48 x 48 in of floor at 29 lb; unzipped, the insert opens to a 60 x 80 x 10 in bed. The cover machine-washes and tumble-dries, the liner is spot-clean only, and the guarantee is lifetime against manufacturing defects, seams and zippers included, with 30-day returns [1].
What you give up is the seat: the filed review says upright support softens between fluffs and re-stuffing after a guest night is a chore. For a daily seat kept a decade, the SuperSac’s higher support and fill marks win; if the floor must also sleep a guest, nothing else on the ranking opens to a queen bed. See CordaRoy’s vs Lovesac and the CordaRoy’s review.
Does the Big Joe Fuf XL give you couch-size foam for less?
Yes on size and price, with one compromise. Big Joe now sells it as the Fuf 7Ft Foam Bean Bag (“previously known as Fuf XL”): $184.99 standard, $224.99 signature corded plush, and $309.99 premium, the same tiers as June, each marked down from a higher MSRP [3]. It measures 62 x 51 x 35 in and weighs 57 lb [3]: about as long as the SuperSac is wide, roughly a foot lower, and 18 lb lighter than its insert (editorial arithmetic).
At 82, value (9/10) and care (9/10, level with the SuperSac) carry it; support (20/25) and the warranty (7/10) hold it back. That warranty is one year: Big Joe’s policy page, read October 1, covers seams, stitching, fabric, foam filling, and zippers for 12 months, with one replacement per purchase [15]. Returns run 30 days from order placement, return shipping is yours, and Big Joe warns it can cost more than the bag [16]. Choose the Fuf for the low, long shape; the Chill Sack carries three times the warranty. Read the Fuf XL review for the card; Big Joe Milano vs Fuf XL sets it against the brand’s bead armchair.
Is the Ultimate Sack still a good Lovesac alternative?
Its filed score is 85, No. 3, and it belongs to a bag you cannot order, which is an awkward thing for a score to be. The classic 4000 paired a removable, machine-washable cover with a separate liner and sold for $109.87–$229.99 across fabrics in a November 2025 capture [11]; that page now returns HTTP 404. The only 4 ft bag on ultimatesack.com on October 1, 2026 is a non-removable-cover model published September 10: $294.99 in suede or Juno, $309.99 in fur, foam blown into a cover with a locked zipper, no separate liner, spot-clean-only care, and no listed dimensions or weight [10].
The lineup around it is patchier [26]. Non-removable bags also come in 5 ft ($334.99–$349.99, 12 of 13 variants in stock) and 6 ft ($389.99–$404.99, 13 of 22). Removable covers survive on a 6 ft ($384.99–$434.99, 14 of 36 in stock) and a 5 ft footstool bundle ($349.99–$384.99, 13 of 34); the standalone 5 ft, nearest the SuperSac’s width, is sold out in every variant [27]. None is the scored bag.
The paperwork is what carries over. Per the brand-wide FAQ, defects in zippers, fabric, and seams are covered for ten years, returns close 15 days after purchase, and return shipping is yours [17]; the 4 ft listing does not restate the warranty. That earned 9/10, one above the SuperSac, while support (20/25) and fill (17/20) are the weaker marks and cover, care, and value are queued for re-score. If a washable cover is why you wanted a sack like this, the Chill Sack and Fuf XL fit better today. Ultimate Sack vs Lovesac and the Ultimate Sack review carry the history.
Should you swap foam for beads with the Yogibo Max?
Only if weight and flexibility matter more than fill life. The Max is the one different-class entry: filed at 83 (No. 5), it beats the SuperSac on size by a point and on value by 3.5, and gives back four points on fill.
On October 1, 2026 it listed from $469.99 in standard colors and up to $499.99 in outdoor, Rainbow, and Luxe covers, with Premium covers at $699.99 on pre-order shipping around October 2026; 16 of its 47 color variants were sold out [4]. Yogibo says heavy stretching, jumping, or impact can mean a top-up after a year or two [28], and refill beads cost $119.99 (2.5 lb) or $169.99 (5 lb) [29].
On paper Yogibo is the narrowest of the six: one year on cover seams and zippers only, plus a two-year Protection Plan if you buy it with the bag [18]. Returns last 14 days, want like-new condition and the original box, and leave return shipping and a possible 25% restocking fee to you [19]. Lovesac vs Yogibo is the full head-to-head, the Yogibo Max review has the card, and memory foam vs EPS beads explains the fill gap.
Where do the filed points put each bag against the SuperSac?
| Criterion | Weight | SuperSac | Chill Sack | CordaRoy’s | Fuf XL | Ultimate Sack | Yogibo Max |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ergonomic support | 25 | 22.5 | 19 | 21.5 | 20 | 20 | 21 |
| Fill quality and recovery | 20 | 19 | 15 | 17.5 | 17 | 17 | 15 |
| Cover durability and materials | 15 | 14 | 12 | 13 | 12 | 13 | 13 |
| Size-to-space fit | 10 | 8 | 8 | 9.5 | 8 | 8 | 9 |
| Ease of care | 10 | 9 | 8 | 8.5 | 9 | 9 | 9 |
| Warranty and service | 10 | 8 | 8 | 10 | 7 | 9 | 7 |
| Value | 10 | 5.5 | 9 | 9 | 9 | 9 | 9 |
| Total | 100 | 86 | 79 | 89 | 82 | 85 | 83 |
Value is the SuperSac’s one weak criterion: every alternative scores 9/10 against its 5.5. It still tops support, fill, and cover, 60 of the 100 weight points, so each alternative gives up 1 to 3.5 points of support and 1.5 to 4 of fill. The value marks rest on June 2026 prices and are queued for re-score.
How did we pick and order these five?
Three entry rules, applied to the 12-chair ranking: a shredded-foam sack or, once, a clearly different class (the top-scoring bead bag, the Yogibo Max); a published written warranty; and a complete bag on sale on the maker’s own site on October 1, 2026. Every score is as filed.
The body runs from closest to the SuperSac’s job outward, defined as four traits: shredded-foam fill, a removable machine-washable cover, a footprint of about 5 ft or more, and a written warranty of three years or longer. The Chill Sack meets all four; CordaRoy’s (a 48 x 48 in chair) and the Fuf XL (a one-year warranty) meet three each; Ultimate Sack’s current 4 ft bag and the Yogibo Max meet two. Ties go to the higher filed score. The scorecards at the foot of the page are numbered by filed Comfort Score instead, highest first, so their numerals never contradict the scores. Closeness is not quality: the closest match has the lowest filed score of the five.
Which bags did we leave out, and why?
The Sumo Omni Plus (75, No. 11) fails the for-sale rule again. On October 1 its collection page shows no purchasable product [30], the complete-bag URL returns HTTP 404 [31], and the catalog lists no Omni Plus bag, with all 17 Omni Plus covers unavailable [32]. That matches our September 13 check; see the Sumo Omni Plus review.
The Jaxx 6 Foot Cocoon (77, No. 10) passes all three rules and is the closest call among the cuts. Jaxx’s own storefront lists $199–$355 across 24 variants (marked down from $350–$530 under a “Fall Sale” banner), 72 x 72 x 20 in, 55 lb, a machine-washable cover, and a one-year warranty [33], below the $250–$590 retailer range on our June record. It lost its slot on score: the Fuf XL has the same one-year term, a five-point-higher filed score, and a comparable price. For a flat six-foot movie-night floor, read the Jaxx review.
Moon Pod (80, No. 7), Fatboy (78, No. 9), and Big Joe Milano (73, No. 12) are bead bags, and one bead entry is enough here; the Yogibo Max outscores all three. See Moon Pod alternatives, Yogibo vs Fatboy, and the Milano review.
Who should skip the alternatives and keep the SuperSac?
Keep the SuperSac if:
- Two adults will sit on it most nights, it will stay put (a 75 lb insert [6] is no bag to carry upstairs), and the top filed marks for support (22.5/25), fill (19/20), and cover (14/15) are worth paying for.
- You want the longest paper trail: 100 years on the insert and 3 on covers [9], and a 60-day trial with prepaid return labels and pickup [13]. Ask whether a made-to-order cover counts, since the trial excludes custom-order merchandise. Fabric swaps at $325 to $750 a cover are the running cost.
- You can wait for a deal: our review recorded the bundle at $861.25 on September 13, and its page showed $1,325.00 with no sale price on October 1 [5], a swing of about $464 (editorial arithmetic).
Do any of these Lovesac alternatives have a recall record?
No recall names any of the six. On October 1, 2026 we ran CPSC’s recall search twice for each of Lovesac, Ultimate Sack, CordaRoy’s, Chill Sack, Big Joe, and Yogibo, once by product name and once by recall title, and got no match; the newest bean bag chair recall on file is dated January 2018 [34]. One parent-company footnote: Comfort Research, which makes Big Joe, has two older actions on file, about 125,000 vinyl polystyrene-filled chairs (December 2014) [35] and about 1,200 Ultra Lounge covers (January 2018) [36], neither involving the Fuf.
The recall that defines the category is Ace Bayou’s: about 2.2 million chairs in August 2014, after a 13-year-old and a 3-year-old were found suffocated inside chairs whose zippers could be opened [37]. ASTM F1912-21, the voluntary standard written for this hazard, leaves out products filled with shredded foam or fiber-fill [38], so the five foam bags sit outside its scope and the bead-filled Yogibo Max inside it. No maker page we read on October 1 states F1912 compliance. Per Yogibo’s FAQ, the Max’s inner liner has its zipper pull tab removed as a child-safety feature [28], and the Ultimate Sack 4 ft listing names a locked zipper [10]. Keep young children away from the zippers on every one. Our toddler safety guide and recall list have the rules.
What do we not know about these six bags?
The Bureau has no lab, and nobody on this desk has handled these bags. We cannot measure how long Durafoam or any cheaper foam holds its loft, or know how warranty claims resolve in year ten. Our only peer-reviewed bean bag trial is a 2022 PeerJ crossover in which 14 healthy young adults napped on a bean bag and on a similarly shaped urethane chair; it did not pit one bag against another [39]. The bean bag was a Yogibo Max, so the result speaks to beads, not foam. Webshark Inc. of Osaka, named in the paper next to the Max, paid for the study under a sponsored research contract; the paper’s own declarations say the sponsor played no part in the design, analysis, or decision to publish, and list no competing interests [39]. Owner reports and prices are both perishable.
For most households the verdict is short: CordaRoy’s is the better purchase, the Chill Sack the cheaper experiment, and the SuperSac the better seat for two adults who will sit on it for a decade. Each alternative fixes the price problem, and none matches its fill.

Checked today: the maker pages behind every price, stock count, spec, warranty term, and return window here; Lovesac’s promotions and cover prices; Big Joe’s warranty at support.buybigjoe.com (its older URL returns HTTP 403 to scripts); and CPSC’s recall database. The $861.25 September 13 sale comes from our SuperSac review. Every Comfort Score, criterion point, and rank is carried as filed. Queued for the quarterly re-score: value (SuperSac bundle and Yogibo Max prices), Lovesac warranty (100-year insert term), and Ultimate Sack cover, care, and value.

Questions, answered
What is the best Lovesac alternative?
The CordaRoy's Convertible Queen is our best Lovesac alternative: 89/100 against the SuperSac's 86, $399.99 on October 1, 2026, a lifetime guarantee, and a 29 lb chair that opens into a queen bed. For the cheapest same-size foam sack, buy the Chill Sack 5 ft (79/100, $164.99–$225.99). For beads, the Yogibo Max (83/100) starts at $469.99.
Is the Lovesac SuperSac worth the money compared with cheaper bean bags?
Only for the parts you will use. The SuperSac bundle's own page showed $1,325.00 on October 1, 2026 with no sale price, and Lovesac's advertised sitewide "up to 25% off" starts at a $3,500 purchase per its printed terms. The SuperSac scores 86/100, with the best support, fill, and cover marks of the six bags compared, but 5.5/10 on value against 9/10 for every alternative. CordaRoy's out-scores it, 89 to 86.
Is the Chill Sack a good Lovesac dupe?
It is the closest in format, not in materials. The Chill Sack 5 ft is shredded foam, 60 x 60 x 34 in and 55 lb, with a removable washable cover and a 3-year warranty, for $164.99–$225.99 direct. It scores 79/100 against the SuperSac's 86: 4 points lower on fill and 3.5 on support, and Chill Sack publishes no foam density or certification.
Is the Ultimate Sack still a good Lovesac alternative?
It earned 85/100, but for a bag you cannot order. The scored 4000 had a removable washable cover; on October 1, 2026 the only 4 ft Ultimate Sack on its site costs $294.99–$309.99 with a non-removable, spot-clean-only cover. The brand-wide 10-year warranty on zippers, fabric, and seams still stands. If a washable cover matters, the Chill Sack 5 ft or Big Joe Fuf XL (now the Fuf 7 Ft) fits better today.
Which bean bag like a Lovesac is lightest to move?
At about 19 lb the Yogibo Max is the easiest to move, followed by the CordaRoy's Convertible Queen at 29 lb; the SuperSac insert alone is 75 lb. The Chill Sack 5 ft (55 lb) and Big Joe Fuf XL (57 lb) are lighter than a SuperSac too, but still heavy. The Max trades foam for EPS beads, so budget for refill kits at $119.99 or $169.99.
